What fabric is used to create metallic trousers?
The metallic effect can be achieved on a variety of fabrics through several techniques. There is foiling, where metal foil is stuck on top of the fabric with a layer of fabric glue and set with extreme heat. Then, there is lurex yarn, which can be woven into the fabric itself. There is also brushing, where metallic-coloured polymers are brushed onto the fabrics much like paint on a canvas, but this happens on huge machines, on an industrial scale. Besides, there are different kinds of weaves that allow the yarn to shine highly; for example, the satin weave. These weaves, when done in metal-coloured yarns, like silver or golden-coloured silk, can provide the desired effect.
