Two brothers riding a motorcycle died in an accident in the wee hours on Monday in south Mumbai, police said.

Himmat Chauhan (23) and his brother Umesh (21) were returning home after deliver a tiffin box to their ailing mother, who has been admitted in a hospital, when their bike rammed into a roadside electric pole near Hanging Garden.u00a0


"They suffered grievous head injuries and died on the spot at around 2.15 am," Vinay Bagade, Senior Inspector of Malabar Hill Police Station, said.


The two were at Elizabeth Hospital at around 11 pm and later left for their home at Tardeo. The bike rider lost control and the two-wheeler crashed into an electric pole, he added. Police have registered a case of accidental death.u00a0
