Two unidentified persons boarded an autorickshaw at Deccan Gymkhana on Saturday night, robbed the driver upon reaching Bhusari Colony in Kothrud and fled in his three-wheeler.
The incident took place near Hill-Seat Society in Bhusari Colony, Kothrud, at 8.30 pm.
The auto driver, Sudhir Rajaram Mane (35), a resident of Sutardara in Kothrud, lodged a complaint at the Kothrud police station.

According to Mane, the two unknown persons boarded his autorickshaw (MWQ 4797) at Deccan Gymkhana and asked to be taken to Bhusari Colony.
The police said the road near Hill-Seat Society was rocky and difficult for vehicles to drive on, but after reaching the road the passengers insisted the driver proceed on it, for which they offered him Rs 10 extra.
The police said Mane refused to take his vehicle down the road, following which the passengers got off the rickshaw and attacked Mane.
The police said the passengers gave Mane a blow in the head with a heavy object.
“After attacking Mane, they looted him and fled with the autorickshaw,” Assistant Police Inspector Chandrakant Jadhav of the Kothrud police station said. “They robbed him of 400 rupees and his mobile. Mane sustained a minor injury.”
The officer said Mane shouted for help, but nobody was around at the time.
“The stolen mobile is a Tata Indicom handset and it is without any SIM card, which means it is not possible to trace it,” Jadhav said. “The driver told us the two passengers were speaking in Marathi and they were between 30 and 40 years old.”u00a0
