UTV dumps Hook Ya Crook

John Abraham and David Dhawan to finish it themselves

The John Abraham Genelia D'Souza starrer Hook Ya Crook has lost its producer. UTV had invested Rs 20 crore in the film and 90 per cent of the film was completed too, before the producers saw the rough cut. They were not happy with the final outcome and expressed their reservations to director David Dhawan. The two sides could not resolve their creative differences and UTV backed out of the project. UTV's decision came as a surprise to John, whose last film Aashayein is yet to be released. But now, John and David have decided to release the film on their own.

As usual, the official version is a lack of dates. The climax of the film had the cast playing a cricket match against Team India. UTV representatives say that they are finding it hard to finalise the dates of the cricketers and so shooting has been temporarily stopped and they have not backed out of the project.
