The 4th national level Vasai Virar Mayor's Marathon has been postponed from November 2 to December 21, the event's organisers said.

Due to the code of conduct that is in place ahead of the Maharashtra assembly elections scheduled this month and will continue till the results are declared, preparatory work for the event organised by the Vasai Virar City Municipal Corporation has been affected, said a media release here today.

"Not willing to compromise on the quality of the event and wanting to give every runner a satisfying running experience with the best possible infrastructure in place, the decision to postpone the event was taken," the release added.
