DLF Foundation comes to the rescue of labourer whose plight had been highlighted by MiD DAY recently

Finally a much needed helping hand for Ved Ram. The 25-year-old labourer had been kicked out by hospitals while he was still recovering from a difficult surgery. Now the DLF Foundation has assured Ved that it will bear all the expenses of his treatment. They have even appointed a person to look after him.

"After reading the report in MiD DAY we decided to take a step and we visited the victim. We assured him of the best treatment and we will make sure he faces no more difficulties. We have also assured him that all the cost of treatment will be paid by us," said Vijay Singh, representative of DLF Foundation.

Ved Ram was dumped by the hospitals after he had been operated upon in the stomach. He was experiencing severe pain 3 months ago. Doctors at Guru Tegh Bahadur Hospital suggested surgery; they blocked his excretory system and made a hole in his stomach and inserted a pipe as an alternative. But after few days they allegedly threw him out after realising that nobody had come to take care of him, as he was an orphan.

Ved Ram was lying on the ground in Krishna Nagar area. Local residents called the cops to get him medical help. But when the police took him to the Hedgevar Hospital, this institute too allegedly dumped him after giving him a painkiller injection.

After MiD DAY reported his situation local residents again admitted Ved Ram at LNJP hospital.
