In a stroke of generosity, Sanskari Censor Board chief Pahlaj Nihalani has not objected to the use of the Hindi slang for prostitute in Vidya Balan-starrer 'Begum Jaan'.

Going by current guidelines, however, they did suggest 11 mutes —madarc**d, for instance, has to be changed to a subtler gaali, but to the surprise of its makers, CBFC has seen the film, adapted from Bengali film 'Rajkahini', in the right context.
"We are happy that the Board has appreciated the spirit of the narrative. The vision of the director has been accepted as the final call," producer Vishesh Bhatt tells hitlist.
