The battle for the Ashes may be over for the time being, but the entrenched rivalry between traditional cricketing foes England and Australia simmers unabated.
England had a providential escape in the first of the abandoned two-match Twenty20 series at Old Trafford on Sunday (yesterday's was washed out without a ball being bowled), but that has not prevented England pace bowler Ryan Sidebottom from rubbing salt into Australian wounds.
Even as the home side was recovering from the torrid new ball blitzkrieg from Brett Lee and Mitchell Johnson on Sunday, which left them tottering at four for the loss of two wickets, in reply to Australia's 145 for four, Sidebottom had a side sweep at the tourists before yesterday's abandoned match in Manchester.

"I think we're going places as a team. I make no bones about it; we've got a lot of improvement, especially one-day cricket. (But) we want to get up there, we want to be No. 1."
Meanwhile, 32-year old middle-order wicket-keeper batsman Adam Voges has been added to Australia's one-day squad on the tour of England.
He replaces wicket-keeper Brad Haddin, who underwent surgery on his injured finger last week. Hoges will now stay with the squad on the tour of England for the seven match one-day series before travelling to South Africa for the Champions Trophy.
Australian captain Ricky Ponting, who is taking a break at home, will return to England for the last four games of the ODI series.
