After slipping of the radar post her spilt from Sushant Singh Rajput, Ankita Lokhande was spotted alighting from rickshaw at 8 am on Monday to meet 'Pavitra Rishta' co-star Karan Mehra

Post her split from long-time beau Sushant Singh Rajput, Ankita Lokhande had slipped off the social radar, although she continues to share her snaps with Tweeple from time to time. The 'Pavitra Rishta' actress now seems to be finding solace in former co-star, Karan Mehra, who essayed the character of Naren on the show.

The TV world is aware that Ankita and Karan get along famously. Recently, the two raised eyebrows following an early morning spotting.

Says a source, "Karan was spotted at Veera Desai Road in Andheri at about 8 am on Monday. He was talking on the phone. A few passersby were wondering why he was hanging around despite being recognised. It did not take long for them to realise that he was waiting for someone."

What followed left onlookers baffled. Within minutes, an auto-rickshaw arrived and Ankita got off. Karan paid the rickshaw fare and the two then quickly headed to Empire building in the vicinity where Karan resides.
Adds the source, "People were taken aback to see Ankita alight from the rickshaw. It looked like she had walked straight out of bed since what she was wearing resembled nightwear."
In the past, Karan had maintained that he took up 'Pavitra Rishta' since his family followed the soap and loved Ankita’s portrayal of protagonist Archana Deshmukh. The two hit it off on set, too.
In 2014, Ankita and Karan were part of the same team in Box Cricket League (BCL), a cricket tourney for TV stars. Earlier, there had been whispers about them acting "too close", but they maintained they were buddies.
A source recalls during a BCL party at a restobar in Andheri East from back then, Ankita and Karan were the cynosure of all eyes. "Their comfort was so apparent that guests at the bash kept darting a glance at them."
In 2009, Karan had a hush-hush wedding with stylist Devika Mehta in Delhi. Devika was considered to be close to Ekta Kapoor and worked with her production house.
Asked about the spotting, Ankita says, "Karan is my best friend and so is his wife. He stays in that building, so he must have been hanging around there. Why would I go to meet him early in the morning? I have a car; why would I travel by rickshaw? I prefer to stay away from the limelight. I am scared to go out since I don’t know what people will say. I don’t like to talk about my personal life."
