Govinda and wife don't let animals or birds go away from their door without having something to eat

It's not just Jeetendra who feeds stray dogs outside his home. Govinda and his wife Sunita have been feeding stray animals including dogs, cats and crows for some years now. People visiting their Juhu home are pleasantly surprised to see bowls of cat and dog biscuits, water and milk outside the door.

Says a source close to the actor, "Govinda's mother was a lover of animals. When they stayed at Virar his mother would feed cows, dogs and crows and sometimes they would follow her home. Chi Chi developed a love for animals at a young age.

Today he has two pet dogsu00a0-- a St Bernard called Simha and a Chihuahua called Gorgeous. His mother inculcated in him that it's good to give food to animals."

Though the ritual had stopped for some time apparently it was the actor's wife Sunita who started it again a couple of years back. "Every morning the domestic servants are instructed to put fresh, clean water, milk and cat and dog food in four separate bowls.

Apart from Gorgeous and Simha, stray dogs and cats that wander into the building can eat outside from the bowls and go away. Sunita loves animals and it was she who started the trend of feeding strays."
