Why country roads needn't take you home

Green fields in an around the city can be a better option than your bedroom when it comes to stirring up the spark, and no, it doesn't imply running around the crass "chane ke kheth mein" way

How often have you slowed down on the DND flyway, looking out of the window longingly and wishing you could descend into those magical meadows with that special one? Or wanted to spend an entire night at The Garden Of Five Senses, hoping for a walk to remember? Romantic indulgences apart, green zones in the capital can prove great spots for seduction, too, albeit in a subtle, understated way. Read on to make the most of nature's naughty expanses strewn all around the city.

Eye spice and more
Scientists say green is great for the eye and the mind, and the most stress-busting colour in the spectrum. Coax your crush on this pretext, and show him/her the other colours that the trip can offer ;) Drive to a clean, inviting garden or park where the gentry doesn't ogle or spit around, and chat about topics as breezy as the day you choose. An occasional drizzle, the kind Delhi's seeing these days, will only go a long way in setting the mood right. When you're well into an insightful yet light conversation, offer to take a seat if an unsoiled one is in sight. Praise the weather, the moon, stars or whatever seems right at the moment, and casually brush off an imaginary ant from your lover's shoulder.

A kind act like that is bound to make you more thoughtful in the other's eyes. Who knows, it might give rise to a Notting Hill-style upshot.u00a0u00a0u00a0u00a0

Don't snub the shrub
Instead of pushing the foliage out of your way, turn it into a tool of fantasy. Use a li'l twig to tickle that irresistible someone; revealing one's playful side always turns on the heat. Hold his/her hand in a moment of spontaneity, and if it gets affectionately awkward, look suggestively and withdraw at once. The harder you play to get, the better.

Wild and wicked
Plan a picnic somewhere in the wilderness off the suburbs with a group that your lover is comfortable in, and steal him/her away for a while. As the two of you get farther from the herd and the feeling of being (blissfully) lost starts to set in, let out a tempting threat like "what if I grab you right here" or "now, get ready for the fiercest kiss of your life" or "wow, I couldn't have thought of a better place to be able to hold you close."

Catch the look in his/her eyes, and if you know you've swept them away, proceed to make your words come true, of course, after you make sure there are no roving eyes around.u00a0u00a0u00a0u00a0

Free wheelie
Pull out your bicycle from the garage, put it in the boot and pull over at a far-off green field for an enticing session of exercise. As one rides and the other plays pillion, make sure you go right on all the bumps and turns to ensure as much contact and fun-filled laughter as possible.

It's not bad to lie
When you're doing it together on the grass. Once you grow tired of walking and talking, settle on the grass, let go, and lie down. Sooner or later, your company will do the same. Stare at the sky, stars or cotton-cloud mountains above, without saying a word. Sometimes, silence can be the sexiest thing around.u00a0

Long and strong
Take a whole day off and meander into territories less explored. See if you can sneak into the scenic stretches at JNU through a friend's help, or stroll into the Aravalli Biodiversity Park premises in Vasant Vihar.

Carry your laptop and watch an enchanting, erotic classic together, over some juice and snacks. As you go wing-spotting at the butterfly sub-park around dusk, we promise butterflies in your stomach and all over!

Strum up a storm
If you play the guitar, don't forget to take it along. Play some good countryside tracks, followed by mildly romantic ones, then moderately mischievous ones and then, err, a hardcore high-inducing cracker. Good luck!
