Nimmi Shrivastava (35) accused her husband Jabil Abdullah Mohammad (40) of trying to beat her to death on July 19, after she refused to accompany him to Bahrain.

For the first time after marriage, Nimmi flew to India on July 17 for her younger sister Khushboo's engagement.

When she refused to accompany Jamil, he brutally assaulted her. Nimmi fell unconscious and was admitted to the Kokilaben Hospital in Andheri and was discharged on Tuesday.

The police have registered a case of attempt to murder and subjecting a married woman to cruelty under Section 307 of the IPC against Jamil, who is absconding.

Aditya Shrivastav, Nimmi's brother, said, "We were unaware about the disputes between them." PI (Crime) D Sankhye of Oshiwara police station said, "Nimmi admitted she was assaulted for refusing to go back with Jamil.
