WWE SmackDown Live's main event saw WWE superstar Dean Ambrose fight The Miz in a match for the latter's Intercontinental title. James Ellsworth, however, came to the ringside and caused an interruption.


The Miz then hit the Skull Crushing Finale on Ambrose to retain the title. Earlier on the show, Ambrose interrupted WWE world champion AJ Styles and James Ellsworth's chat and hit Dirty Deeds on Ellsworth for what he did at TLC 2016.


New WWE tag team champions Bray Wyatt and Randy orton defeated Heath Slater and Rhyno to retain their titles. Baron Corbin defeated Kalisto in their match up.

Former SmackDown women's champion Becky Lynch confronted current champ Alexa Bliss and asked for a rematch after losing the title at TLC 2016.

Carmella revealed to the WWE Universe that it was Natalya who attacked Nikki Bella at Survivor Series 2016. Natalya came to the ring and fought Carmella before chasing her backstage when she ran into Nikki Bella.
