The victim, Sangita Jadhav, a married woman from Satara was staying in Mumbai for the last two months as a maid at Preeti Tushar Parikh's residence in Neelayi Apartment in Chembur.
The incident came to light this morning Sangita had gone for a bath at 6:30 am and when she failed to come out till 7 am the Parikhs knocked on the door but there wasn’t any reply. Apprehensive about the situation, they opened the door with a key and saw her hanging.
“The incident took place at 7 a.m. and we came to know around 8 a.m. and her body has sent been sent to J.J. Hospital for post-mortem. We do not have any clue about her family background and even the reason of her committing suicide as the investigation is still on,” said police sub-inspector S.S. Dalvi.
According to the society watchman, even if Sangita was depressed, it couldn't have been caused by the residents as they were very well behaved and friendly. "I don’t think that Preeti or someone from the family would have caused problem," he told this newspaper.
