Advantages Wadala is very strategically located. One can get local trains from Wadala to travel towards Navi Mumbai as well as the western suburbs. It takes around an hour to travel from Wadala to Andheri by road and, 45 minutes to get to Navi Mumbai or South Mumbai.
Wadala has a number of schools, colleges, hospitals and retail outlets to meet the day-to-day needs of the residents.
A number of projects are coming up in Wadala (East). Township projects like Bhakti Park by Ajmera Group and Dosti Acres cater to upper middle class and affluent groups. These projects have stores, banks, parks, etc within their complexes.
One can find a number of restaurants, cinemas and other recreation options in Matunga or Dadar, which are close by. The IMAX theatre in Wadala (E) is one of its kinds and attracts movie-goers from all over Mumbai.
Wadala (W) is a quiet and peaceful locality. It has a lot of greenery unlike many other parts of Mumbai.
The area has some renowned educational institutions like Veermata Jijabai Technical Institute, University Institute of Chemical Technology, UICT) and SNDT College. Wadala experiences very few powercuts unlike many other parts of the city that has frequent power cuts.
Disadvantages Wadala doesn't have many malls or supermarkets. For shopping, one has to travel to Matunga or Dadar.
The area gets water supply only once a day. There is water supply from 6.30 am to 9.30 am.
