Abhijeet Bhattacharya's obscene tweet about Jawaharlal Nehru University student and social activist Shehla Rashid led to his Twitter account getting suspended. Abhijeet wrote, "There is rumour she took money for two hours and didn’t satisfy the client... big racket (sic)"
Upon being pulled up Abhijeet Bhattacharya commented on a female user's tweet by posting the following, "You Ms Pak. Tell me your cage no? Will reach there… Will do the favourite pose (sic)"
Apart from students Abhijeet Bhattacharya has also raised the ire of news reporters. Abhijeet tweeted the following regarding a Pakistani reporter's visit to India, "Alert !! Former ISI reporter @RifatJawaid entered India with the help of an old lady #Presstitutes @bainjal. All leftists, seculars pro-Pak @RifatJawaid @bainjal r after me and trying to stop me.. Kab tak (sic)"
Abhijeet Bhattacharya went on to call a Delhi-based journalist named Swati Chaturvedi a Pakistani and tweeted the following, "Besharam Budiya..U not proud of Indians? Wats your breed? U sk pakis..I fk Pakis, U lick..I kick, dnt block just wait (sic)." Swati lodged an FIR against the singer
Abhijeet Bhattacharya attracted the ire of many during Salman Khan's court hearing in connection with the 2002 hit-and-run case by tweeting this, "Kutta rd pe soyega kutte ki maut marega, roads garib ke baap ki nahi hai I was homles an year nvr slept on rd @BeingSalmanKhan @sonakshisinha (sic)
Abhijeet Bhattacharya continued his rant with another tweet which read that the roads are meant for cats and dogs and not for people to sleep on
Abhijeet Bhattacharya has attacked Karan Johar, Mahesh Bhatt, Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan and Salman Khan for working with Pakistani artistes in films. Abhijeet called all of them shameless in a tweet and asked the government how they could provide them with a visa and red carpet treatment
Karan Johar tweeted a rather homophobic joke aimed at Karan Johar and Fawad Khan when the latter didn't come to India after the release of the film 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil' owing to controversy. His tweet read, "Another #lovejihad .. Mehbooba #KaranJohar is in depression ..pak lover fawad ditched bechari Mrs @karanjohar khan (sic)"
In 2015, when Pakistani singer Ghulam Ali was banned from performing in Mumbai, Abhijeet Bhattacharya jumped at the opportunity and made a series of tweets degrading the crooner. Abhijeet claimed he had no self respect and went on to label the singer a 'Dengue artist'
Abhijeet tweeted the following regarding the matter, "nation and patriotism took priority over music” and branded the maestro as a “dengue artist”. “These shameless people have no self respect, no work except terrorism. So called Hindu political parties jst shout 4 mileage bt never tk action agnst these Dengu Artists from terrorist country.These qawwals don't come here on their merit but due to paki Dalals #prestitute and @MaheshNBhatt (sic)"
Also in 2015, Abhijeet Bhattacharya was accused in a molestation case when a woman claimed the singer touched her inappropriately during a Durga Puja event in Lokhandwala which was organised by Kailash Kher. The woman threatened Abhijeet and he was booked under IPC sections 506 & 34 for molestation after an FIR was registered
Again in 2015, Abhijeet Bhattacharya attracted controversy this time for targeting Yakub Memon's lawyer Prashant Bhushan. Abhijeet tweeted, "Prashant bhushan ko fata hua sasta joota marunga (mine is costly) uski dead body par, Camera ready rakhna (sic)"
