Gold and silver prices remained volatile this week amid signs of some ease in global trade order, fading expectations of a December rate cut by the US Federal Reserve and a stronger dollar index.
The price of 24-carat gold on Sunday at the time of writing is reported at Rs 1,25,980 per 10 grams. Which is fairly up by approx. Rs 250 against Monday's price of Rs 1,22,432 per 10 grams. Meanwhile, the price of 22-carat gold in Mumbai for 10 grams is currently floating at Rs. 1,15,490.
Ponmudi R, CEO of Enrich Money, while expressing her view on the volatile gold prices this week, asserted that "Gold experienced a healthy correction this week but continues to maintain a strong bullish framework. COMEX gold closed at USD 4,079.5, while MCX gold settled around Rs 1,24,191, finding support precisely on the multi-month rising trendline," as cited by news agency IANS.
Amid the ongoing wedding season across India, the demand for the yellow metal has been on the surge. Despite the fact that gold remains one of the costliest metals for jewellery, people are mostly interested in buying this rather than any other metal. Talking about the prices, 10 grams of 24-carat gold in Mumbai on Sunday was recorded at Rs. 1,25,980. While 22 carats of gold was priced at Rs. 1,15,490 for 10 grams.
While the prices in Mumbai did experience a slight hike as compared to Saturday, the national capital on Sunday recorded a slightly higher price for gold. "Silver witnessed a sharp yet healthy correction this week across both COMEX and MCX, but the broader uptrend remains firmly intact," Ponmudi added, reported IANS.
