This is real Volumes in Action..

Every year, India sends out millions of graduates. Yet only a few are ready for the jobs that wait for them. This was the puzzle that Dr. Karthik Narayanan decided to solve. He looked at the classroom, at teachers, and at the little things that shape how a student learns. What he found was simple: if you teach with the right tools, at the right time, and with heart, you can change lives.

It began with a brave, small idea in 2010-to teach English and Science to kids from class 1 to 12 in a way that felt possible for every child. No loud launches, no big wasteful spends-just a belief that learning should be a doorway, not a barrier. In 2012, Project English became the flagship program. The price was tiny-just 1 rupee a day for each child for the month-because Dr. Karthik wanted no child to stay back for money. Very soon, his work earned national trust when the late Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam chose him for Vision 2020, naming him Project Director. Yet he kept the voice of the work loud through results, not speeches.

From 2012 to 2014, a quiet wave rolled across the country. More than 30,000 teachers were trained in Kendriya Vidyalayas, JNVs, and government schools. The aim wasn't to fill rooms with papers and chalk dust, but to fill them with teachers who believed in their students and could spark real curiosity. The goal stayed clear: when students master English, doors open to the world.

Dr. Karthik saw a deep problem in how English was taught in many Indian classrooms. Listening, speaking, reading, and writing were squeezed into a single textbook routine. In smaller towns, resources were scarce, and students grew bored. The remedy was not more worksheets but a new way of teaching-language as a living tool, not a dusty subject.

In 2014, blended learning became more than a trend. It became a core method. Teachers received special training, and Indian classrooms started borrowing ideas from the United States and Britain, then adapting them for local schools. By 2016, these ideas lived in CBSE and government schools through Teacher Enrichment and Student Enrichment programs. A key feature was the 26-level reading ladder with 2,000 titles per level, so every child could climb at their own pace instead of marching through the same book all year.

By 2018-2019, the library grew to more than 50,000 titles, printed for easy, offline use. When Covid struck, the plan didn't crumble. It shifted, keeping learning affordable and steady, now also online, without losing the human touch that makes learning feel possible.

Then came a turning point for families worried about coaching costs. In 2020, Dr. Karthik launched a 90-day Level Up Coaching for Class 10 and Class 12, priced so low that families could breathe again. The first batch was free, a gift of trust. From 2021 to 2026, more than 18,000 students across 300+ schools joined the program. By 2026, Class 10 results showed a 94.3% pass rate, and many students who had never had coaching before scored above 90%.

What makes this work different is the idea of EduTainment-education through entertainment. It's not about tricks or gimmicks; it's about keeping learning alive with stories, challenges, and practical problems that make tricky topics feel doable. It's about meeting students where they are and guiding them with kindness and clear goals.

Dr. Karthik's dream goes beyond marks. He believes in building leaders. Since 2016, he has helped students prepare for UPSC prelims and mains, dreaming that by 2030, 100 of his students would become IAS, IPS, IRS, or IFS officers. He wants a country where education builds confident, capable people who can shape a better future.

The heart of his approach is simple and powerful. Every child is special, so teaching should respect their pace and their life at home. Practice with purpose, especially through last-year papers on weekends, builds not just memory but confidence. And it isn't about chasing popularity or wealth; it's about helping every child discover what they can become and giving them a fair chance to shine.

The impact is real, quiet, and lasting. Thousands of teachers trained, tens of thousands of students helped, and a growing belief that high-quality education should be affordable for all.

This is Dr. Karthik Narayanan's gift to India:

A method that turns traditional limits into new possibilities, a belief that learning is a public good, and a hope that begins in a classroom and travels outward to touch communities far and wide.

If you're a parent, a teacher, or a student who believes learning can be joyful and powerful, here is a story that invites you to dream bigger. It isn't about a single victory but about a steady, universal rise-one classroom, one curious mind, one day at a time.

Dr. Karthik Narayanan shows us that with heart, clarity, and a plan that puts people first, a nation can learn to soar.

He credits his real-life inspiration, actor and racer Ajith Kumar (AK), as the guiding force behind every step, a believer in his vision from day one.
