Goa is taking another step towards smarter tourism as travel-tech platform Explurger expands its NiVU AI tourism network to the state, following its recent AI tourism partnership with Andhra Pradesh. The company has begun rolling out NiVU AI-enabled QR Boards across Candolim, bringing conversational, multilingual travel assistance directly to visitors at key tourism and public locations.
Around 150 NiVU AI Boards are set to be installed across Candolim, covering heritage landmarks, beaches, walking routes, public spaces and other high-footfall visitor points. By simply scanning a QR code, travellers can connect with NiVU, Explurger's AI travel companion, and instantly access information and recommendations tailored to their location and interests.
The rollout includes some of Candolim's most recognisable attractions, including Fort Aguada, Lower Fort Aguada, Sinquerim Beach, Candolim Mangrove Boardwalk, Candolim Beach, the Statue of Abbé Faria, Shanta Durga Temple, Aguada Lighthouse, Aguada Jail Museum, and the Church of Our Lady of Hope, among other public and tourism landmarks.
What sets the initiative apart is its shift from traditional signage to interactive AI-powered destination discovery. Instead of simply reading information displayed on a board, visitors can engage in a conversation with NiVU, ask follow-up questions, and explore a destination based on their interests.
Available in 130+ languages, NiVU can help travellers understand the history of a landmark, discover nearby attractions, find local food and cafés, explore markets, learn about cultural traditions, identify hidden experiences and plan their next stop. The system is designed to provide contextual assistance based on the traveller's location and what they want to explore.
The Candolim deployment also creates a digital layer across Goa's existing tourism infrastructure without changing the character of its physical destinations. By connecting visitors with information through a simple QR scan, the initiative aims to make exploration more accessible while encouraging travellers to discover experiences beyond conventional tourist itineraries.
The Goa rollout follows Explurger's three-year strategic partnership with Andhra Pradesh Tourism, where NiVU is being deployed as part of an AI-enabled tourism ecosystem across the state. Together, the initiatives represent Explurger's broader vision of connecting physical tourism infrastructure with artificial intelligence to create more interactive and data-driven destination experiences.
Founded by Jitin Bhatia, Explurger has built a global travel-focused community of more than 22 million explorers across 75+ countries. The platform brings together social travel, AI-powered discovery, travel intelligence and destination technology. NiVU is the latest evolution of Explurger's travel-tech ecosystem, designed to bring conversational AI and intelligent destination assistance directly to travellers. The platform is now emerging as a key component of Explurger's growing smart-tourism strategy.
With Goa now joining Andhra Pradesh in the expanding NiVU network, Explurger is positioning AI not simply as a travel-planning tool, but as an on-ground companion for discovering destinations.
With NiVU, Explurger is redefining how the world discovers destinations-bringing AI from the screen to the streets of India's tourism hotspots.
