Social media personality Akriti Agarwal has announced that she and her fiancé, Indian cricketer Prithvi Shaw, have decided to part ways. This comes about six months after the couple publicly announced their engagement.
Taking to Instagram, Agarwal shared a statement announcing their separation. In an emotional note, she stated that the decision was made mutually after the duo realised they had different goals and circumstances for their future. She highlighted that despite the love and care they have for each other, they accept that their paths were no longer meant to be together.
She wrote, "With a heavy heart, I would like to share that my fiancé and I have decided to part ways due to different goals and circumstances for our future. As much as we love and care for each other, we've come to accept that our paths are not meant to be together. With our responsibilities and the circumstances we are currently facing, we have mutually decided to go our separate ways."
She added, "I genuinely wish nothing but the best, peace, and happiness for both of us as we move forward."
Concluding the note, Akriti wrote, "I kindly request everyone to respect our privacy during this difficult time and refrain from speculating or making assumptions about the reasons behind our decision. Thank you for understanding and respecting our space."
Prithvi Shaw and Akriti Agarwal announced their engagement in March 2026. The cricketer had shared pictures from their engagement ceremony on social media, publicly announcing thier relationship.
However, soon after, their relationship came under public scrutiny when Agarwal posted a cryptic note on social media in July. The post about cheating sparked speculation that she was hinting at Shaw.
Later, she shared a clarification saying she was not talking about Shaw but about her friends. Nevertheless, Agarwal's latest statement confirms that the couple have mutually ended their relationship. Although Akriti did not explain the circumstances behind the separation, she urged everyone to respect their privacy and not speculate on the reason for their separation.
