GMA has bestowed the Award of Excellence for the movie's soundtrack and Award of Merit for original score to the film, directed by Sohan Roy.
Roy's "DAM 999", a $10 million film, tells the tale of a cracking dam built during colonial rule and nine people whose lives revolve around the the pressure-mounted dam.
Kerala-born marine engineer-turned-film director, Roy's movie was last year selected for the 2011 Oscar race in three categories - original song, original score and best picture, but failed to secure a place in the final nomination list.u00a0The GMA honours talented musicians from around the world.u00a0
