It's a designer overdose

Is an overdose of fashion and designers killing the interest in fashion? Judging by the lack of enthusiasm that was evident on day three of the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week, it sure seems the case.


Models strut their stuff in outfits by Paras and Shalini

Monday saw a total of 15 designers and seven shows. Phew! The day started with Chandrani Siingh Fllora, Nikhita, Roma Narsinghani and Shrea by Shreya Sharma. Chandrani showcased loose pants, jackets and dresses in georgettes, nets and cottons.

Anupama Dayal's line was inspired by the Kinnaris of Himachal Pradesh. Vibrant colours like neon turquoise, flouroscent pinks dominated. There were scarves in silk and cashmere, summer jackets, tunics, skirts and kaftan dresses.

Paras and Shalini of Geisha Designs had halter dresses, tabby silk dresses, tulle kaftans, gowns and embroidered draped saris. For Vineet Bahl's collection, models strutted their stuff in asymmetric jackets, postage print tunics with shorts. There were tunics made of PVC laser cutwork, sepia print fringe dresses and postcard print dresses.u00a0

So which designer walked away with the eye-grabber award at the end of day three? "It's the lady who gave us itsy bitsy vintage lingerie," said a happy buyer. Sanchitau00a0u00a0Ajjampur's creations had 'primitive Malinese body art' on tropical foliage prints. Ashish N Soni had a dramatic opening with a saxophone being played on the ramp (well, that was a first as far as we remember) flaunted black, red and more black.
