Films on superheroes never go out of fashion. While Hollywood has made around 100-plus different films based on them since Superman (1978), Bollywood too is trying to keep up with projects like the Krrish franchise

Joining the bandwagon is a Punjabi superhero who is all set to make his jump to the big screen.

Writer-director Saurabh Varma who has just completed a comic thriller starring Manish Paul is planning a film on an unconventional superhero called Raftaar Singh Superfast with a fetish for samosas.

"He is not your conventional superhero saving the world. It is about a man who discovers his own self in a very humourous way," says Saurabh.

Varma has been working on the project for the last two years and the film is slated to go on floors by the end of this year. "This would be India's first superhero comedy. For a majority of Indians, Shaktimaan still personifies the desi superhero," sums up the debutant director. u00a0
