Aamir Khan has reportedly stepped away from the much-talked-about Ashneer Grover biopic due to creative differences with director Rahul Mody. While the actor was said to be deeply involved in developing the project, the makers are now reportedly searching for a younger actor to headline the film, with Shraddha Kapoor still attached to the project.
As per a report by Bollywood Hungama, "Aamir is fascinated by the world of start-ups and was keen to get into the zone with the Ashneer Grover biopic. He sat on the script and developed it to the best of his sensibilities. But eventually, he ended up having creative differences with Rahul Mody, leading to the duo parting ways."
The report further states that Rahul Mody remains attached to the project, while his rumoured ladylove, Shraddha, is also said to be committed to starring in the film. The source further revealed, "The real-life couple is now looking to recast the film and get a relatively younger name to play the part of Ashneer Grover. The conversations are on with two or three top names, and the cast is expected to be locked soon."
The filming was expected to commence in March 2027 after Aamir completed his period drama with filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker. Apparently, Mody - who previously worked on Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety (2018) - has been working on the screenplay for the past three years.
Ashneer Grover, best known for Shark Tank India, is the co-founder of BharatPe. He has been in the news after the controversy surrounding BharatPe began, when allegations emerged accusing his family of misusing company funds. Ashneer's wife, Madhuri Grover, was recently a part of the reality show Lock Upp on Netflix. She was in the news for befriending Shreya Kalra and her remarks about the couple wanting a third child.
However, she faced flak after her comment, "Rich people having more children would increase wealth, while poor people having more children would increase poverty," went viral.
On the work front, Aamir is reportedly in talks with Rajkumar Hirani for the 3 Idiots sequel. Meanwhile, Shraddha is awaiting the release of Eetha. The teaser has garnered a positive response, and she will play tamasha artist Vithabai Narayangaonkar.
