B-Town insiders have been buzzing about all not being well with the director duo Abbas-Mustan and producer Vikram Malhotra. Though it has to do with the music of their upcoming flick Players, it's definitely not music to their ears. The melody is instead leaving some jarred notes.

The cause of their consternation is Himesh Reshammiya. Vikram was keen that he record two additional songs for the movie even though Pritam is the music director of the thriller. But the director duo would have nothing of it in their Abhishek-Bipasha-Sonam starrer. Here's a lowdown of what transpired...

WHAT HAPPENED: After the audio release of the film, Vikram realised the music was not exactly happening. He felt that a hit track was missing from the play list. As Abbas-Mustan's thrillers are known for their chartbusters, he thought Players' tracks list did not have that one potential number.

The maker was keen to rope in Himesh to record two additional songs that they could incorporate in some way or in the end credits. Earlier, Vikram had incorporated the Jugni track by Mika in his previous production Tanu Weds Manu in the end credits just before the release of the film. The number had turned out be a hit.

WORK IN PROGRESS: As soon as Himesh was told, within days he scored two peppy numbers. Despite the lack of time, he managed to compose the tracks. However Abbas-Mustan refused to take delivery of the songs. The director duo felt that the multi-starrer already has a buzz about it so the music did not matter at that stage.

THE SQUABBLE: This led to a feud between the producer and the director duo with each sticking to their guns. Abbas-Mustan even claimed that Himesh had not been approached to record the tracks and that Pritam was to do one more track.

THE END RESULT: Himesh's songs do not feature in the movie. He has been told to use the two ready tracks in some other project of his while Abbas-Mustan are going as planned with what they had in mind, leaving Vikram with no choice.
