Singer Sonu Nigam was recently taken aback when an ardent fan suddenly jumped on stage to touch his feet when he was performing live during his concert in Kolhapur. However, the singer turned the unexpected and chaotic moment memorable by maintaining composure.
Startled as the fan jumped on stage, the singer paused mid-song and let the fan proceed. Security swiftly stepped in to handle the situation. What followed next turned the incident into a viral moment, with fans praising Sonu Nigam for his calm response.
Instead of reprimanding the fan, Sonu Nigam calmly acknowledged the moment, saying "Waah, shabaash," leaving the audience amused and laughing. As security began escorting the fan away, the singer intervened and called him back to the stage.
In an unusual gesture, he handed the mic to the fan, who enthusiastically performed a line from Sonu's popular track Chori Kiya Re Jiya from Dabangg adding a light-hearted twist to the situation. After the brief performance, the fan left the stage, while Sonu had a bewildered and amused expression as he reflected on the disruption.
The singer took to his official Instagram handle to share a video of the moment on Instagram. He questioned why fans engage in such behaviour during live shows, stating that he managed the situation this time, but may not always do so in the future. "Kyon Pitne vaale Kaam karte ho audience?" Is baar toh bachaa liya, har baar nahi bacha paunga," he wrote, along with facepalm emojis in the caption.
The fan who jumped onto the stage, left a comment under the post. He wrote, "sonunigamofficial It's me thankyou sir (sic)." The fan's name is Sadashiv Chougale, and he is also a singer.
Many of Sonu's followers were annoyed by the disruption and stressed that fans must know their boundaries, but praised the singer for taking control of the situation.
Reacting to the video, a netizen commented, "Only you could have handled it like that (sic)."
Another Instagram user wrote, "When an artist is on stage woh prayers mode per hote hain...bech me Bina permission interrupt krna should be considered a sin .... Bina permission stage per ana ...it's so unethical on fans behalf .... Fans should know how to respect the art of an artist..... Loved the way bhaiya handled it (sic)."
A third user wrote, "Incredible how gracefully you handled it. Even LET the man sing. The craziest was continuing singing even after the man jumped up on the stage. Fan's favourite for a reason."
