For years, Addy TPC, aka Aditya Nair, waited for the right moment to release his music. The Pune-born rapper had hoped to sign with a major label. But with Blitz 26, he has chosen a different route - releasing one song every nine days across nine weeks. For the hip-hop artiste, the strategy is all about taking control of his career.
"It came from the perspective of survival. Putting together the budget for an entire album rollout was not possible, but I was tired of waiting for everything to align. I decided to start letting the music go out into the world," said the musician.
The decision to fly solo was prompted by an unlikely source - Artificial Intelligence (AI). "I wanted to see if ChatGPT could give me a way to build my career with the resources I currently have," he said. The app's suggestion to release music in a cycle and allow algorithms to pick it up resonated with him.
That willingness to experiment has extended to the music itself. While hip-hop remains his foundation, Blitz 26 moves into indie and chill trap, with some songs having been sitting unreleased for years. "The song, Window, is something I had made back in 2021," shared Addy TPC.
Now building his career in Los Angeles, he hopes to establish himself in the hip-hop scene. "I want to be an artiste who emerges from the American underground hip-hop scene, and then people find out that I was born and raised in India. I want to break into the industry without any stereotypes attached."
