Welcome To The Jungle poster
Don't be surprised if you feel a sense of déjà vu when you watch Welcome to the Jungle. After all, director Ahmed Khan's upcoming comedy sees the popular Hera Pheri trio of Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, and Paresh Rawal reuniting. Not just that, the ensemble comedy - with a principal cast of 34 actors - brings back memorable actor combinations seen in Awara Paagal Deewana (2002), Aan: Men at Work (2004), OMG - Oh My God (2012), Jolly LLB 3 (2025), and Golmaal and Housefull franchises.
For starters, the June 26 offering reunites Kumar and Raveena Tandon after many years. They had starred in several films together, including Mohra (1994) and Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi (1996). A source breaks it down further, "Akshay has reunited with Arshad Warsi after Jolly LLB 3. Meanwhile, the combination of Akshay, Suniel, Paresh, Aftab Shivdasani, and Johny Lever from Awara Paagal Deewana will be seen here. Arshad, Tusshar Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade, and Mukesh Tiwari were previously seen in Golmaal, whereas Akshay has teamed up with Shreyas and Jacqueline Fernandez earlier in the Housefull outings."
Bringing so many actors together wasn't easy. But Khan is pleased to have pulled the feat off, and amused that the actors have so many movies in common among them. He said, "The casting happened organically. We thought of roping in actors, who are excellent in comedy. By default, they are also in other franchises. This is also the first action comedy where you will see all actors in the same uniform throughout the film."
Late Neeraj Vora had written the story and screenplay of âWelcome to the Jungle' for producer Firoz A Nadiadwallah back in 2012. The makers will honour Vora by including his name in the opening credits. Nadiadwallah confirmed the development, saying, "Neeraj was family to me. We plan to put his name in the credits, in the loving and everlasting memory of my brother."
