Akshay Kumar undergoes eye surgery for vision correction, actor to take break from work

Actor Akshay Kumar recently underwent a minor eye surgery for vision correction in Mumbai, following which the actor will be taking a break from his work. The update comes days after Akshay wrapped the Keralam schedule of his upcoming film

Actor Akshay Kumar has had a busy year so far with multiple releases and shoots scheduled one after the other. After delivering a hit with Priyadarshan's Bhooth Bangla and wrapping up his reality show, Wheel of Fortune, he has now embarked upon the shoot of his next with filmmaker Anees Bazmee. However, according to recent reports, amid the hectic commitments, Akshay has found time to undergo a minor eye surgery.

According to a Hindustan Times report, Akshay underwent eye surgery in Mumbai. A source told the portal, "It was a minor surgery which took place on the morning of May 6, Wednesday. It was for vision correction. Akshay will now take a break and recuperate since he has also finished the Keralam schedule of his next film with Anees, which also stars Vidya Balan and Raashii Khanna."

Akshay Kumar and Vidya Balan recently wrapped up the Kerala schedule of their next untitled film with filmmaker Anees Bazmee. Updating his fans on Instagram about his latest project, Akshay shared a lovely picture with his co-stars Vidya Balan and Raashii Khanna.

In the caption, Akshay wrote, "Keralam schedule wrapped! Nothing beats working with good people in a beautiful place (sic)." He also expressed his gratitude to Bazmee, saying, "Big love to our director Anees Bazmee for the madness behind the camera and to my incredible co-stars Vidya and Raashii and the entire crew! This one's been special."

Notably, Akshay Kumar and Vidya Balan have earlier appeared together in hit films such as Heyy Babyy (2007), Bhool Bhulaiyaa (2007), and Mission Mangal (2019). Similarly, the upcoming film will mark the reunion of Akshay and filmmaker Anees Bazmee as the actor joins forces with Bazmee after a long gap of 15 years. The actor and director duo have earlier delivered hits such as Singh Is Kinng (2008), Welcome (2007), and Thank You (2011).

On the work front, the 58-year-old actor also has Welcome To The Jungle, Haiwaan, Golmaal 5 and the Marathi film Vedat Marathe Veer Daudle Saat in his kitty.
