The trailer of Alia Bhatt and Sharvari-starrer Alpha was released on Wednesday, June 16, 2026. While the trailer has received mixed responses from users, it has also sparked a debate about plagiarism. Netizens pointed out the similarities between Alpha and The Boys in one of the scenes shown in the trailer. Others also found a similarity with a scene from Game of Thrones. Interestingly, this comes days after the film's teaser and poster faced similar accusations.
One of the most highlighted scenes in the trailer, Bobby Deol's character is naming a child Sita and monitoring her from outside the cage. A user on Reddit pointed out that the scenes featuring a baby in a monitored cage look strikingly similar to Homelander's in the iconic show, The Boys. A scene in The Boys explores the origin of Homelander, played by Antony Starr.
Another user on X highlighted the similarity between another scene where Alia Bhatt jumps and attacks Bobby Deol, and he holds her by her neck. The user compared it to Arya Stark attacking the Night King on Game of Thrones. "What in poor man's Arya Stark Night King rip off this is," the user noted.
Previously, Alpha's teaser, which was unveiled last week, was also dissected by fans as they noticed the many similarities between the teaser of YRF's spy thriller and the French film La Femme Nikita. Another scene from the teaser was compared to American Sniper.
Just a day later, soon after the poster was unveiled, social media users started pointing out that the new visual had a striking resemblance to the poster of the Hollywood film Dune, featuring a sepia-toned, muted colour palette with a desert-like backdrop that sets a gritty, futuristic tone.
The latest trailer of Alpha gives fans a sneak peek into the world of Alia Bhatt's character as Sita, as she is trained to be a spy by Bobby Deol's character. Anil Kapoor and Sharvari also appear in the trailer, but the biggest talking point of the trailer turned out to be Hrithik Roshan's cameo. The actor is likely be playing Kabir, another spy from YRF Spyverse.
