Imtiaz Ali shares glimpse of daughter Ida and Krish’s engagement, couple exchanges rings and seeks blessings

Filmmaker Imtiaz Ali's daughter Ida Ali is now engaged to Krish. The couple exchanged rings at an intimate ceremony in Mumbai, with Imtiaz sharing a glimpse of the celebration. The engagement comes months after Krish proposed to Ida against the scenic backdrop of Norway.

Imtiaz Ali shared a glimpse of daughter Ida's intimate engagement ceremony with Krish in Mumbai. In the picture, Ida looked elegant in a pastel pink saree paired with delicate jewellery, while Krish opted for a sleek black sherwani. The couple was seen exchanging rings and smiling for the camera. Sharing the picture on Instagram, the filmmaker wrote, "Seeking your blessings, the newly engaged Krish and Idaa."

On July 12, Ida shared her proposal video on Instagram. The couple made it official by sharing pictures and videos from their dreamy proposal amid the breathtaking landscapes of Norway. Krish chose a [picture-perfect proposal], going down on one knee and popping the question to Ida with a ring. The delightfully filmy moment caught the attention of fans, who went gaga over the pictures. Ida, the 25-year-old aspiring filmmaker, said, "Yes!"

Imtiaz had reacted to Ida's engagement. Talking to Hindustan Times, the filmmaker said, "It is the greatest happiness for me." He further added, "Krish did speak to me before proposing to Ida."

Ida runs a popular podcast on YouTube alongside Kareema Berry, titled Why Are The Curtains Blue? She was also seen in a brief cameo appearance in Imtiaz Ali's latest release, Main Vaapas Aaunga. Additionally, she has also played a small role in Imtiaz Ali's OTT series Thai Massage (2022).

Besides, following in her father's footsteps, the 25-year-old has also directed short films such as Life (2017), Maya (2018), Uljhe Hue (2022) and The Other Woman (2022).

Workwise, Imtiaz Ali is basking in the success of his recently released film Main Vaapas Aaunga. The film stars Vedang Raina, Sharvari, Rajat Kapoor, Naseeruddin Shah, Diljit Dosanjh and others. It is based against the backdrop of the 1947 Partition of India and spotlights the themes of separation, love, nostalgia, migration and memory. The filmmaker is now gearing up for his next romantic drama with Aditi Rao Hydari.
