A shaken and bruised Ameesha escapes an accident that could have had worse consequences
Ameesha Patel had a narrow escape on the Mumbai-Pune expressway recently after a jeep rammed into her car. The actress came away shaken and bruised.

A source close to the Lazy Lamhe lass describes the incident. "She was on her way back to Mumbai one evening in her car after spending the day with her grandmother and attending an event in Pune. It was around 7 pm and was quite dark. Her car made it, slow and steady past the ghats and had just come out of a tunnel on the expressway when a big white jeep came up behind her vehicle and banged into it on the left side."
The source adds, "The car hit Patel's car's tyre so hard that she banged her head against the window pane and bruised her forehead. The white jeep had been driving erratically for the last half hour and was also speeding. She couldn't make out clearly who was driving or note down the number of the car. Fortunately, her driver had quick reflexes and controlled the car before it could jump the divider on the highway."
The source feels if the actress's car had jumped the divider, it would have rammed into oncoming traffic in the opposite lane. "Ameesha missed a fatal accident that day. She got off at the nearest fuel station, put ice on her bruised forehead and had coffee."
Patel's car suffered the worst damage. "Her tyres were ripped. She has changed all her four tyres.
Says the understandably livid lady, "I wish there were some higher security cameras on the expressways as there are abroad to catch such offenders so they can't get away scot-free. How many times will such rash drivers get away?"
