In his blog post, Bachchan reflected on the destructive force of nature and said that its fury cannot be fought. "On a more serious note, the devastation of the floods in Nepal are unbearable to watch the fury of nature can never be battled with," he wrote, adding that nature's power demands respect and invoking divine intervention with "we pray".

The flash floods struck parts of central Nepal following an ice-and-rock avalanche triggered by a glacial collapse near the Nepal-Tibet border. The resulting torrent of water, mud and debris swept through several areas, damaging homes, vehicles, roads and bridges, while leaving settlements buried and communities cut off.

As the scale of the disaster continued to emerge, reports said hundreds of people had lost their lives while many others remained missing. Rescue and relief efforts were underway, although damaged infrastructure and disrupted communication and travel posed challenges for authorities and emergency teams.

Bollywood celebs also reacted and extended support

Bachchan was among several personalities from the film industry who expressed solidarity with those affected by the tragedy. Actors and filmmakers, including Farhan Akhtar, Kangana Ranaut, Bhumi Pednekar, Sonu Sood, Manisha Koirala and Sanjay Dutt, also shared messages of grief, prayers and support on social media. Some also circulated helpline information to assist people affected by the floods.

Sonu Sood offered assistance to people stranded or separated from their families, while Manisha Koirala, who has roots in Nepal, shared visuals from the disaster and urged people to pray for those affected. On his X handle, Sood wrote, "Nepal, you are not alone. We are coming with food, shelter, and the strength to help you rebuild (sic)." Sanjay Dutt also expressed his support for the victims and their families.

The disaster has also raised concerns about visitors stranded in Nepal. Bengali actor Kharaj Mukherjee and his wife Pratibha Mukherjee were among those whose return was reportedly delayed amid the crisis. Their son later said that the couple was safe.

Bachchan's remarks come as Nepal continues to deal with the aftermath of one of the region's most devastating recent flood disasters, with rescue operations and efforts to account for missing people continuing. He is currently seen in Kaun Banega Crorepati 18.
