Bipasha Basu calls Tukaram Mundhe 'only hope' after finding tiny worms inside a nutrition product

Actress Bipasha Basu recently raised concerns over food-safety after she found tiny worms inside a nutrition product. The actress shared a video on her Instagram Story on Thursday, September 10, 2026. Bipasha even directly appealed to Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Commissioner Tukaram Mundhe, asking for his help over the alleged contamination.

In the video, Bipasha claimed to have found what appeared to be tiny worms inside an Isopure product. She even zoomed in on the contents of the container and showed what she identified as worms. "This Isopure is full of worms... tiny tiny worms. The new dabba that we've opened is full of worms," Bipasha can be heard saying in the video.

Alongside the video, Bipasha also tagged Mundhe and wrote, "tukaram_ias You are our only hope... so we don't get spoilt or adulterated stuff in everything that we purchase," along with a folded-hands emoji.

For the unversed, Isopure is a nutrition brand known for its whey protein isolate products and supplements. The products are marketed as low-carb or zero-carb options.

Tukaram Mundhe is an IAS officer and Maharashtra FDA Commissioner. He has been in the news for his efforts and focus on food-safety enforcement across the state. The FDA authorities have been conducting inspections of restaurants, food establishments and quick-commerce warehouses under his leadership and taking action in cases involving hygiene and safety violations. He has also gained attention on social media for his stringent approach to food-safety.

Before Bipasha, TV actress Shweta Tiwari had also shared her experience with a food delivery app and tagged Tukaram Mundhe seeking his help. Shweta allegedly order cold drinks, which arrived with a cockroach, which began roaming in her house.

On the professional front, Bipasha Basu has been away from the screens for quiet some time. She was last seen in the 2020 web series Dangerous. Now, the actress is set to make her acting comeback with filmmaker Hansal Mehta's crime thriller Barabanki, which is adapted from The Barabanki Narcos: Busting India's Most Notorious Drug Cartel. She has also begun shooting the same in Mumbai.
