Shah Rukh Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan are set to reunite on screen for a grand dance number in their upcoming film King. The song's shoot reportedly began in Mumbai on October 27, with choreographer Vaibhavi Merchant leading the sequence. The track is expected to feature elaborate sets, international dancers and high-energy party beats, bringing the two stars together for a much-awaited musical moment.
According to a report in Variety India, the makers are aiming to recreate the energetic appeal of Shah Rukh and Kareena's popular song Chammak Challo from the 2011 film Ra.One. The upcoming number is being mounted on a large scale and is expected to be one of the highlights of the action entertainer.
A source told the publication, "The shooting started today, October 27. The track promises to bring back the magic of their iconic dance numbers like âChammak Challo,' with international dancers also said to be coming on board."
While further details about the song remain under wraps, the reported reunion has added to the anticipation surrounding Siddharth Anand's film. Shah Rukh and Kareena have previously shared screen space in films such as Asoka, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham... and Ra.One.
The reported dance number shoot comes as the makers build anticipation for King with the release of a new poster featuring Shah Rukh in a rugged avatar. Sharing the poster on social media, Shah Rukh wrote, "Today, I remembered once again... I am not a killer...I am a lover.⦠KING." The line references Baadshah O Baadshah, a song from his 1999 film Baadshah, adding a nostalgic touch to the film's latest promotional material.
The poster offers another glimpse of the look the superstar will sport in the upcoming action drama, which has generated interest with its ensemble cast and the pairing of Shah Rukh with his daughter, Suhana Khan.
Directed by Siddharth Anand, King features Shah Rukh and Suhana alongside an ensemble cast comprising Abhishek Bachchan, Rani Mukerji, Deepika Padukone, Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Jaideep Ahlawat, Arshad Warsi, Raghav Juyal and Abhay Verma, among others.
With its action-driven visuals, star-studded cast and the reported Shah Rukh-Kareena dance number, King is shaping up to be one of the major theatrical releases to watch out for this year. The film is scheduled to release in cinemas on December 24, 2026.
