On Sunday, December 28, actor Bobby Deol went to a special screening in Mumbai of the upcoming movie Ikkis, starring renowned actor and late father Dharmendra. Bobby may be seen waving and briefly smiling for photographers in one of the films that a paparazzi posted on Instagram.

Then he and his family got into his car. Bobby took the front seat, with his son Aryaman Deol and wife Tanya Deol in the rear. He seemed overwhelmed as he wiped away his tears.

The producers have rescheduled the release of Ikkis from December 25, 2025, to January 1, 2026. Amitabh Bachchan has emphasized that the decision was made for astrological reasons, despite widespread suspicion that it was due to the box office storm caused by Dhurandhar or to avoid a possible conflict with Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri.

Agastya Nanda, the grandson of Amitabh Bachchan, plays the main part in the movie. Simar Bhatia, the niece of Akshay Kumar, will make her acting debut in Ikkis as the female lead, and Jaideep Ahlawat will play a key part.

When Dharmendra passed away

Days before turning ninety, on November 24, Dharmendra, then eighty-nine, passed suddenly at his Mumbai home. Soon after the news leaked, his lifeless remains were transported under strict police guard to the Pawan Hans cremation in Mumbai, where a covert funeral was held.

Many Bollywood stars, including Akshay Kumar, Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Zayed Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Siddharth Roy Kapur, Jackie Shroff, Aamir Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Agastya Nanda, Sanjay Dutt, and Anil Kapoor, were present at Dharmendra's funeral.

Dharmendra is survived by his first wife, Prakash Kaur; his second wife, actress Hema Malini; and six children, including daughters Esha Deol and Ahana Deol from his second marriage, sons Sunny Deol and Bobby, and daughters Vijeta and Ajeita from his first marriage.
