Over the years, Ajay Devgn has been part of some of Indian cinema's most loved action films and unforgettable characters that audiences have rooted for. Now, the OG action star is back in a fierce new avatar as Chauhaan. The film also marks his first-ever collaboration with filmmaker Aanand L Rai, making the action entertainer one of the most exciting projects to watch out for.
Remembering the late action director Veeru Devgan on his birth anniversary, the makers today unveiled the first look of Ajay Devgn in and as Chauhaan, giving audiences a glimpse into the film's gritty and action-packed world. Sharing the glimpse, the makers wrote, "On the late Veeru Devgan Ji's birth anniversary, we are bringing back our OG action star, Ajay Devgn, in an action entertainer built for the big screen."
The title announcement comes with an added surprise for fans. With the iconic Jumma Chumma De De playing in the background and ending with the massy dialogue, "Pathaanon se kehna, Chauhaan aa raha hai," the video packs all the elements of a true-blue mass entertainer. With Chauhaan, Ajay Devgn returns to the larger-than-life action hero avatar that audiences have always loved him in.
Presented by Jio Studios and Colour Yellow, Chauhaan is directed by Neeraj Yadav and produced by Jyoti Deshpande, Aanand L Rai, and Himanshu Sharma. The film is slated to arrive in cinemas on October 1, 2027.
Ajay Devgn's Drishyam 3 went on floors in December last year. While the core cast, including Ajay Devgn, Tabu, and Shriya Saran, will return for the third instalment, some new faces will also be seen in the film. Jaideep Ahlawat has reportedly replaced Akshaye Khanna, and Prakash Raj has also joined the franchise. The film is all set to hit theatres on October 2. The Malayalam version, featuring Mohanlal, has already been released.
The actor will next be seen in a comic avatar in Dhamaal 4, which also retains its core cast, including Riteish Deshmukh, Arshad Warsi, Sanjay Mishra, and Jaaved Jaaferi. The film will also feature fresh faces such as Esha Gupta, Sanjeeda Shaikh, Anjali Anand, Upendra Limaye, Vijay Patkar, and Ravi Kishan. The film is expected to reach audiences on July 10 this year.
Apart from this, he has also reunited with Rohit Shetty for Golmaal 5. Akshay Kumar has also joined the cast.
