'What should I tell them?': Mrunal Thakur visits CJP protest in Dhule and Nashik, meets students

Several Bollywood celebrities have stepped forward and voiced their opinions about the student protest that's happening in Delhi's Jantar Mantar. Among them, some even moved beyond social media and showed up at protest sites to extend their support. Joining the list is Mrunal Thakur, who has shared that she personally visited the students protesting in Dhule and Nashik.

Mrunal Thakur meets students at Dhule and Nashik

Mrunal took to her Instagram story and shared a video of a man from Nashik who went to Delhi to participate in the protest. In the video, the man is seen talking to a content creator and shared that he was there for his brother who died by suicide due to the NEET paper being leaked.

Mrunal, who hails from Dhule, shared the video and wrote in Marathi, "Mi swatah Dhule aani Nashik madhil vidyarthyanna bhetale. Tyanni mala vicharlam ki prashnapatrika futlyanantar aata aamhee kaay karav? Kaay sangu tyaana? (I myself met students from Dhule and Nashik. They asked me what we should do now that the question papers have been leaked? What should I tell them?) (sic)."

Bollywood celebs react to student protest

Several Bollywood celebrities including Sonakshi Sinha, Huma Qureshi, Preity Zinta, Bhumi Pednekar, Riteish Deshmukh, Genelia Deshmukh, and others, have posted about the protest on social media. Meanwhile, veteran actress Shabana Azmi and Prakash Raj attended the protest in Jantar Mantar.

Celebrities have also condemned the violence against demonstrators at Jantar Mantar on July 20. On Monday, July 20, the CJP held a Sansad Chalo march to the Parliament House against the NEET paper leak, demanding accountabilty from the government. Their demand also included the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, the release of climate activist Sonam Wangchuk, and compensation for the families of all NEET aspirants who died by suicide following the paper leak.

However, the protest was faced with a lathi charge and tear gas on students who joined the march, leaving many injured. Similarly, several protestors were detained at the protest site in Delhi as well as in Mumbai. The series of events has enraged many, including celebrities.
