Costume designer Rick Roy was recently invited to London Fashion Week that ran from February 19 to 23. Proud to be the only Indian designer this year to be invited by the British Fashion Council panel, Roy says he chose to attend the shows of designers Chet Lo, Oscar Ouyang, and Fam Irvoll.

"I attended shows by designers whose work and design philosophy I am interested in. I wanted to experience the true essence of fashion," shares Roy, who is working on Raghav Juyal's next Bhai Tera Star Hai.

To see the new collections was pure joy for the costume designer, who feels that fashion weeks in India are becoming all about celebrity presence. "In India, it's becoming less about the design, and more about which celebrity can wear it so that it gets the most likes on Instagram," he rues.
