Diljit Dosanjh's upcoming India Tour has hit a roadblock, with Delhi Police reportedly denying permission for his October 30 concert at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. The decision comes amid security concerns and festive-season commitments. Meanwhile, the singer has warned fans against fake volunteer recruitment pages.
According to a report by Hindustan Times, the police have declined the request to organise Diljit's Delhi concert at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on October 30, 2026. As per the report, a letter addressed to BookMyShow from the Office of the Deputy Commissioner of Police (South District) stated that the application dated October 14 had been examined. The letter reportedly cited specific threat-related inputs, along with security and law-and-order commitments arising from the ongoing festive season and other important concerns, stating that the request could not be acceded to.
Ahead of his India Tour, Diljit and his team came across pages claiming to recruit volunteers for the event. Cautioning followers about the scam and the attempt to obtain personal details, he said, "We are not asking anyone to volunteer, so please don't share your information. If you share your information with any pages, you know data is the biggest thing today. So don't share your information. These pages take your data and then sell it. So that's a different business. This was important to say because a lot of people get scammed."
In September, Diljit announced the next stop on his AURA World Tour in India, with a concert at Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi Stadium on November 21. The singer made the announcement during his historic Wembley concert. Addressing the crowd in Punjabi, Diljit said, "The world's biggest stadium is in India... how can a Punjabi not go there?" The singer has announced seven India shows, with the tour expected to travel across multiple cities, including Indore, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Lucknow and Chandigarh.
Workwise, Diljit had multiple releases this year, including Border 2 and Main Vaapas Aaunga. While the former received critical acclaim, Imtiaz Ali's film performed well at the box office, with cinegoers praising it. He also had Satluj dropping on ZEE5 after a long wait. However, the film was removed from the OTT platform due to certification issues.
