Farah Khan confirms directorial comeback, to start by end of 2026 under one condition: 'I will do it with Shah Rukh'

Farah Khan's fans have been eagerly waiting for the filmmaker to make her comeback. As good news, she recently confirmed that she will soon be returning behind the camera. To add to the excitement, she confirmed that she will return with a Shah Rukh Khan film. This means fans can expect the iconic actor-filmmaker duo to reunite for another power-packer cinema.

In her latest YouTube video, Farah was seen visiting actor Nakuul Mehta's Mumbai home, where the conversation soon turned nostalgic. Nakuul noted how much he missed the genre of films Farah is well-known for. Farah responded to that saying, "Abhi banaungi main! Abhi bachche chaley jayenge na college, phir banaungi! There is a whole petition on the internet called wapas aao Farah Khan. So I think it is time, I think end of this year I will start. (I will make a film soon! My kids are going to college, so I will make one after that. There is a whole petition for me to return to direction saying 'Come back Farah Khan'.)"

Farah further jokingly addressed her growing popularity as a YouTuber, stating that she is not quitting the platform anytime soon since it helps her pay her children's fees. Further, when Nakuul playfully asked if YouTube would also produce her next film, Farah laid out her condition crystal clear. She said, "If I do (direct a film), I will do it with Shah Rukh (Khan)! Otherwise, I will wait and do YouTube."

It is well known that Farah and Shah Rukh have a long and successful history together. Farah made her directorial debut with Main Hoon Na (2004), which starred Shah Rukh Khan and went on to become a massive hit. The duo followed it up with Om Shanti Om (2007), which marked one of the most iconic films.

The two reunited once again for Happy New Year (2014), which received mixed reviews but performed strongly at the box office.

Although there is no official confirmation yet on the upcoming project, Farah Khan's comments clearly confirm that Shah Rukh Khan remains her first choice for her comeback film.
