Previously there was buzz that director A R Murugadoss wanted to sign Jayaram for the Hindi remake as well but later Govinda managed to make the final cut.
Producer Vipul Shah says, "Jayaram was never in the picture. Govinda was always our first choice. We would love to have him on board."
