Govinda's manager reveals why Sunita Ahuja visited family court: 'Divorce case has been withdrawn'

Amid the ongoing public spat between Bollywood superstar Govinda and his wife Sunita Ahuja, the latter was spotted arriving at the Bandra Family Court on Wednesday with their son Yashvardhan Ahuja. They appeared visibly displeased as paparazzi followed the mother-son duo. While many speculated that the couple was getting divorced, Govinda's manager has now cleared the air and stated that Sunita has withdrawn the petition.

Speaking to NDTV, Govinda's manager, Shashi Sinha, has now confirmed that Sunita Ahuja has withdrawn her divorce case against Govinda. He expressed his disappointment at how this whole matter played out in the media over the last two years. He told the portal, "Did the world need to know? There was no need. Family matters should stay within the family. Many things get resolved after sitting and talking things through. If the case was to be withdrawn today, why was it filed in the first place? This pains me. Why did we become a spectacle?"

Shashi revealed Govinda's reaction and stated, "Govinda currently has no reaction. All of this just happened minutes ago. There is no reaction at all. May God grant everyone good sense, and may everyone act wisely."

In an interview with HT City, Shashi Sinha also spoke about Sunita's angry reaction when she was spotted at the court. He said, "She looked so angry that everyone must have thought something was wrong, but everything is fine between the two now."

For those unversed, Sunita had reportedly filed a divorce petition against Govinda at the Bandra Family Court on December 5, 2024, under the Hindu Marriage Act, 1955, citing adultery, cruelty and desertion.

This update comes after Govinda was spotted with his rumoured girlfriend Rani Swarnkar to promote their film Roopa. Reacting to their public appearance, Sunita slammed them and said, "Promotions happen after making a film; they should shoot first. What can I say? She is his daughter's age, and he is hanging out with her. He should have some shame. There should at least be a standard. Your sugar daddy is so rich, at least wear proper clothes. Look at us, we have great style."
