Looks like Farhan Akhtar may be ready for yet another dramatic makeover. After embodying sporting icons in Bhaag Milkha Bhaag (2013)and Toofaan (2021), the actor and filmmaker is reportedly in advanced talks to play the legendary composer RD Burman in a biopic directed by Neeraj Pandey.

"Neeraj has been developing the RD Burman biopic for a while now, and the writing work is progressing at a rapid pace. Farhan is in talks to play the composer and is extremely excited about the prospect of bringing Pancham Da's journey to the big screen," a source told Pinkvilla.

The film is expected to celebrate the life and music of the composer who revolutionised Hindi film music. "The team has secured rights to the classic RD Burman tracks that defined his legacy. The idea is to create an authentic and emotionally rich homage to the genius of Pancham Da," the source added. If all goes according to plan, the ambitious biopic is expected to go on floors by the end of 2026.

As if one music legend wasn't enough, Farhan Akhtar is also set to make his Hollywood debut as sitar maestro Ravi Shankar in director Sam Mendes' ambitious four films on The Beatles in 2028.
