Over the weekend, Priyanka Chopra Jonas had a fun night out in London with actors Sandra Oh, Awkwafina, Michelle Yeoh and Sonoya Mizuno. They dined at a Chinese restaurant known for its lobster noodles. "When you get a seat at the cool kids' table," PeeCee captioned the picture she posted. For the girls, it was an "Asian pride" moment prompting fans to tell them they were the "ultimate squad" for a film. Awkwafina and Yeoh feature in the upcoming action-adventure Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.

Why Shruti's a Bandra girl

Though she was born and brought up in Chennai, and moved to Mumbai at 16, Shruti Haasan prefers to call herself a "Bandra girl." Over the weekend, the actor fondly recollected the memories attached to the queen of suburbs, which she now calls home. She studied at St Andrew's College, played her first bunch of rock ‘n' roll gigs there, and through one of the most "turbulent times" in her life, the backstreets of Bandra were her haven. "This place has my heart always," posted the actor, who loves the quaint bungalows, which still stand in the bylanes.

Springing a surprise

The Rhea Kapoor-Karan Boolani wedding has taken B-Town by surprise. There's talk about its suddenness and why no snapshot of the bridal couple from the ceremony is out. On Sunday, family members posted pictures, but not of the newly-weds. On August 12, Rhea posted, "Give your whole true heart and soul because you can, and want to, and get a bunch in return. The universe plays fair in work, love and building dreams." Earlier she wrote, "I like wearing dresses again." Netizens are decoding the cryptic posts.

After the wedding ceremony of Rhea Kapoor and Karan Boolani wrapped up, Anil Kapoor stepped out to greet the paparazzi, who had parked themselves outside his Juhu home. He expressed his gratitude to them for waiting for hours to click pictures and distributed mithai boxes among them. This was his sweet way of including them in the celebrations.

Kangy learns to splash around

Kangana Ranaut is in no hurry to return to Mumbai after wrapping up the spy thriller, Dhaakad in Budapest. She has been visiting the tourist spots with parents, Amardeep and Asha, sister Rangoli and nephew Prithvi Raj, who accompanied her for the shoot. The actor was dragged into a water park by Prithvi Raj. As Ranaut is from Manali, she prefers the mountains to the beaches. Hopefully, the kid made her a water person.

Jasmin's dream comes true

Bigg Boss 14 contestant Jasmin Bhasin has got her "dream home" in a Goregoan high-rise. It will take her a couple of months to shift from her current pad in Malad as the interiors are being done. Bhasin's family lives in Kota, so beau Aly Goni is helping her. The Dil Se Dil Tak actor is hoping to throw a housewarming bash depending on COVID restrictions.

South remake

Writer-director Akarsh Khurana is remaking the Kannada rom-com Sankashta Kara Ganapathii (2018). The film, about a cartoonist who suffers from the Alien Hand Syndrome, has been titled Baayein Haath Ka Khel. Khurana will also produce the film, along with Sunny Khanna and Vikas Sharma, who have acquired the rights.

Singing in the Valley

After collaborating with Jubin Nautiyal for the music videos of his songs, Wafa na raas aayee and Main jis din bhulaa du, Himansh Kohli is teaming up again with the singer for his latest track, Bewafa tera muskurana. The music video also features TV actor Akanksha Puri. "We shot in a remote village in Kashmir, and initially people didn't understand what was going on," says Kohli.

Telling desi stories

Ayushmann Khurrana, who is shooting for the campus comedy, Doctor G, in Allahabad, is "honoured" to get opportunities to tell diverse stories of the country through his films. "I try to tell those that are rooted in the Indian microcosm and are about real people and their real lives in our culturally- diverse nation," he says. The actor adds that this is the reason why his films like Bala (2019) and Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan (2020) have resonated with people, besides passing on the socially relevant message.
