Hey, it's not a remix!

Mikey McCleary doesn't like it when his creations are called remixes.


The musician prefers to term them new versions. Mikey told CS the difference, "Remix is when you take the original track, and chop it up or add beats and add on top of what already exists.



When it's a cover or a new version, which is what I do, one only takes the intellectual material and re-do everything, including re-singing it and re-interpreting the way it's arranged.

I think the general perception is that both are remixes but it's nice for people who are more interested in music to know there's a big difference between remixes and new versions." Guess that clears the air!u00a0
