Last week, Shah Rukh Khan took to micro-blogging site Twitter to thank singer Aaman Trikha for beautifully rendering the track Butterfly, from his upcoming romance-drama, Jab Harry Met Sejal. "You gave life to the song," the badshah wrote, in what appeared to be a humble gesture of appreciation."

Interestingly, the major chunk of the vocals in the song, including the voice of Khan, belongs to Dev Negi, whose name was brought to the fore when musician Chirrantan Bhatt posted on Facebook: "The song Butterfly from Jab Harry Met Sejal has been sung by the very talented Dev Negi. But shockingly, it has been credited to Aaman Trikha. I hope they correct this error and @Aaman Trikha clears the air."

Confirming the news, Negi suggests that the makers may have erred on their part. "The male voice is mine. Maybe, Aaman was credited by mistake. I will talk to the label about it. SRK's voice in the song is mine. Pritam da must be busy. Also, he doesn't have the time to look into these things. But it's unfair.

Even while a source tells mid-day that Trikha has no more than a couple of lines in the track, the singer says he's unable to comprehend the fuss over the credits. "Pritam da had called me and I recorded the song. Both the singers have been credited for it, so, why is there a problem? Everyone, including SRK, has acknowledged my work. Are they all wrong? It's a proud moment for me because it's my first song for him. I haven't been credited out of the blue. I have recorded the song. What happens in the mixing is out of my control."

Composer Pritam reasons that a label is obligated to credit every singer associated with a song, regardless of the number of lines s/he has crooned. "Aaman has sung for it, so, I have to credit him. Thirty-five singers sang a song in Jagga Jasoos (Khana Khake), and all have been credited. Even in Selfie Le Le [Bajrangi Bhaijaan, 2015], Nakash [Aziz] has sung only one line, but we have credited him. Dev's is the primary voice, but Aaman's vocals are included as well."
