Credit card fraud is getting more and more common these days. Recently, Ayushmaan Sethi, the younger son of actress and comedian Archana Puran Singh, fell victim to such a scam, where he was duped of Rs 87,000. However, he has now shared an update confirming that the amount has now been recovered.

Ayushmaan Sethi confirms he has recovered the duped amount

The recovery was confirmed in a vlog shared by his elder brother Aaryamann Sethi on April 29 on his YouTube channel, Aary Vlogs. In the video, the family clarified that Ayushmaan has successfully recovered the scammed amount.

In the video, Ayushmaan was seen walking around in a worn-out T-shirt. That's when his brother Aaryamann commented that he should now buy some clothes for himself since he had received his Rs 87,000 back. Aaryamann further joked, "Rs 87,000 vapas aa gaye. Khareed le t-shirt (Your Rs 87,000 are back, buy yourself a T-shirt)." To this, Ayushmaan responded humorously, saying, "Ab kharid sakta hu main (Now I can buy it)," while pretending to cry.

About the scam

On Saturday, Aaryamann shared a video discussing the alleged scam on his channel. He revealed how Ayushmaan got into it, while the family continued to make fun of him.

Ayushmaan revealed that the transaction occurred when he signed up for what was advertised as a seven-day free trial. The website he signed up for assured that no money would be deducted for the first week; however, the amount for the subscription was billed for an entire year without his consent.

Aayushmaan was seen visibly concerned as he explained the situation and tried to figure out how to reverse the transaction. Meanwhile, Archana Puran Singh reacted with panic, urging him to quickly get in touch with the credit card provider to take necessary action.

His father, Parmeet Sethi, on the other hand, advised him to focus on disputing or cancelling the payment instead of cancelling the card.

Interestingly, the incident also brought back memories of a previous financial setback for the family. Aaryamann recalled that Aayushmaan had earlier faced a similar issue during a recce for his song Choti Baatein. He shared that approximately Rs 80,000 was debited from his PlayStation account without his knowledge. The family added that amount was never recovered.
