Amitabh Bachchan's weekly Sunday ritual of greeting fans outside his Juhu residence, Jalsa, saw heightened police security on October 25, days after a bomb threat email named his home as a potential target. The additional security comes amid an ongoing probe into the firing incident involving Tiger Shroff, with reports suggesting that the accused had surveyed the residences of several Bollywood stars, including Bachchan.

Amitabh Bachchan's Juhu home sees heightened police security

The veteran actor's Sunday fan interaction is a longstanding tradition, drawing crowds outside Jalsa for a glimpse of the superstar. However, the latest security concerns have brought increased police presence around the property, with additional personnel deployed to monitor the gathering and the surrounding area.

The increased security follows a bomb threat email received by the Mumbai mayor's office on Friday, October 23. The message reportedly named Bachchan's Juhu residence, the mayor's office and Mahalaxmi Racecourse, where singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh is scheduled to perform on November 27.

According to reports, the email threatened a grenade attack on October 31 and an explosion at the concert venue. Several schools in Navi Mumbai also received threat emails, prompting precautionary checks and the early dispersal of students at some campuses.

The email naming Amitabh's home comes at a time when security around Bollywood celebrities is under scrutiny following the recent firing incident in Juhu.

Tiger Shroff firing probe raises security concerns

On October 18, two men opened fire at Tiger Shroff's car near a football ground in Juhu. The actor escaped unharmed, while his driver and another person were reportedly injured. Three suspects were subsequently arrested in Kota, Rajasthan, and handed over to Mumbai Police for further investigation.

Reports citing investigators suggested that the accused had conducted reconnaissance of several celebrity residences, including those of Bachchan, Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar and Aamir Khan. They allegedly travelled around Mumbai and asked auto-rickshaw drivers to take them to the stars' homes under the pretext of photographing the properties.

Investigators are examining the accused's movements and their suspected links to individuals associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The alleged reconnaissance is being probed as part of the wider firing case.

While the firing investigation and the bomb threat email are separate developments, both have prompted concerns over celebrity security in Mumbai. With Bachchan continuing his customary Sunday appearances outside Jalsa, police presence around his residence has been strengthened as a precaution.
