Kartik Aaryan is on the road to recovery after suffering a knee injury while shooting an action sequence for Kabir Khan's upcoming sports drama. The actor has undergone surgery in Mumbai and is now resting at home, with his team confirming that he is expected to return to work soon.
The actor sustained the injury while performing an action sequence on the film set. "His surgery was completed successfully, and he is now back home, resting and recovering. He will be back on set soon," the spokesperson said.
The injury reportedly occurred during the final two days of filming, when the team was shooting several action-heavy portions of the yet-to-be-titled sports drama. Kartik was subsequently taken to Fortis Raheja Hospital in Mahim for medical attention, where he underwent the procedure.
The setback comes as Kartik is juggling multiple responsibilities on the project. Apart from starring in the film, he is also making his debut as a producer with the sports drama under his own banner.
While reports suggested that Kartik's injury could force the film's schedule to be postponed, director Kabir Khan has dismissed the speculation. Speaking about the rumours to Hindustan Times, Kabir said, "All this is wrong news. There's no change in our schedule; we are on track."
The clarification suggests that the injury will not affect the film's completed shooting schedule, with Kabir confirming that the shoot has already wrapped. This also means Kartik can focus on his recovery without the production having to make major changes to its filming plans.
The sports drama has been one of Kartik's more anticipated upcoming projects, particularly given his collaboration with Kabir, known for films such as Bajrangi Bhaijaan, 83 and Chandu Champion. The actor has also been steadily taking on more varied roles, making his first production venture another significant step in his career.
For now, the actor is recuperating at home following the successful surgery. While his team has maintained that he will be back on set soon, his immediate priority appears to be getting back on his feet after the action sequence left him sidelined.
